I was thinking that launchbox would connect the dots between Mame and where the roms were located? and then tried to see if that could be done as a "associate platform command line parameter" and i tried this: coleco -cart "Drive Letter:\full path\ROM_name.rom" -skip_gameinfo -nowindow which is from this post but that didnt do it either (i put in my full path to the rom folder but wasnt sure about that ROM_name.rom part, so tried it as is and tried with it omitted and neither achieved what i was looking for. blueMSX 2.8.2: Getting started: Introduction The MSX system Features Version history. move files over to mame/ roms and reimport metadata? (but then dont have a games/colecovision path which is nice, but whatever) Copy the rom files over (more footprint) so that when refreshing metadata it'll keep images updated.ģ. So do i need to move all the roms to mame/rom folder for it to work?Ģ. The port only has the backend, the frontend is delivered by retroarch itself. I’m on Mac so a lot of documentation and guides about file setup for otherwise obvious simple stuff like folder paths and locations. blueMSX-libretro is a port of the blueMSX emulator to the retroarch framework. Looking around I've read bluemsx uses an ad-hoc folder structure for different Machines in RetroPie/BIOS, so I found the one associated with the Sony HB-501P (the version I grew up. Then I realized I had set a custom directory (RetroArch settings > Directory) for BIOS files and that is the directory where the blueMSX full zip Databases and Machines folders go. Crux of my question is if emulating with Mame using LB do roms HAVE to be in the mame/roms folder or can LB connect the dots for mame to tell it where the roms are? so should i :ġ. Specifically, I can't figure out how to start the emulator (either globally or per-game) using a different BIOS than the one lr-bluemsx apparently uses by default. if i put the rom in the mame/roms folder, then it works. Core options¶ The DOSBox core has the following option(s) that can be tweaked from the core options menu. Theyre all in the system folder which retroarch is set to look into. Double-check your RetroArchs system folder location with 'Settings > Directory > System/BIOS'. however when i try to load a game it blackscreens for a sec indicating the start up of the emu but fails to find the game so backs out. This means bios files are either named incorrectly or inside the wrong folder. From there it should load games normally. change the default machine to colecovision then back out and save core options. And then at one point he mentions putting the bios file in the mame/roms folder, which i also did, that was supposed to basically be it. Change the default machine in the retroarch gui options. So during the video it appears that his roms are located in a games/colecovision folder, but he's using mame to emulate. I'm setting up colecovision using the official tutorial from awhile back, but am confused (or just need more coffee) about rom path.
